Marino Adds Notable Legacy Brand, Architect of MRTA to Roster of Cannabis Clients

NEW YORK – November 15, 2022 – Marino, a full-service communications firm with offices in New York and Los Angeles, today announced the addition of a pair of brands integral to New York’s cannabis industry and legacy community to its growing portfolio of cannabis clients.

The new additions include Happy Munkey, the popular New York City-based cannabis lifestyle and culture brand with legacy roots, and Campoamor & Sons, a full-service consulting firm with a mission to create results for businesses, trade organizations, advocacy groups, and individuals in a variety of sectors, including cannabis. Leveraging its experience working with leading cannabis brands, Marino will carry out comprehensive strategic communications programs for each company.

“Our cannabis practice has had the pleasure of growing in tandem with the industry itself, especially here in New York,” said Jordan Isenstadt, senior vice president at Marino, who oversees the agency’s cannabis practice. “Throughout this expansion we have made it a point to collaborate and remain connected with members of the legacy community and those who were on the front lines of getting the MRTA passed. We look forward to working with Happy Munkey and Campoamor & Sons, two integral leaders in the shaping of New York’s cannabis culture and policy and supporting them as they continue to make inroads and reach key milestones within the industry on a local and national level.”

Happy Munkey is a cannabis-inspired lifestyle brand specializing in the "higher end” of hospitality and media. They provide members and audiences a glimpse into the New York cannabis scene through events, podcasts, video content, written content and social media. CEO and founder Vladimir Bautista has emerged as a leading voice for the legacy community and is a sought-after authority on New York’s cannabis industry. Marino will continue to elevate Bautista and other members of the Happy Munkey team and support the brand’s entry into the recreational market through a comprehensive strategic communications program.

Campamor & Sons was founded by Jesse Campoamor, a veteran political operative and cannabis equity advocate with more than a decade of experience in New York State and City government. He worked with Governor Cuomo’s office during the battle to legalize cannabis and was a chief architect and negotiator of the MRTA, New York’s landmark cannabis legislation. His consulting firm is focused on social justice and creating economic opportunity for historically excluded communities. Marino will be focused on highlighting Campoamor & Sons’ work with New York CAURD applicants, positioning the firm as a leading consultant for various issues, including cannabis licensing, and leveraging Campoamor’s experiences in government to establish him as a regulatory expert in several topics including cannabis, policy and healthcare.

Marino was recently named a top cannabis PR firm by 10Buds, an acknowledgement that adds to a growing list of recognitions for the agency within the past year, which includes the PRNEWS Agency Elite Top 100, The PR Net 100, Crain's Notable Leaders in Advertising, Marketing and PR, AMNY & PoliticsNY Real Estate and Development Power Players, City & State Real Estate Power 100, and City & State Political PR Power 50.
