Community Preservation Corporation Selects Marino as Public Relations Agency of Record
NEW YORK—April 17, 2023— Marino, a strategic communications firm with offices in New York and Los Angeles, announced that it has been selected by the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), a nonprofit affordable housing and community revitalization finance company that provides a full suite of construction lending, permanent lending, and equity investment to facilitate and promote impactful and equitable development across New York. Since their founding in 1974, CPC’s creative financing solutions have supported critical projects in neighborhoods across New York state and beyond, resulting in wide-reaching physical, economic and social impacts that improve communities and people’s lives.
Marino was awarded the assignment through prior engagement with the PACT Renaissance Collaborative (PRC), a consortium of nonprofit and for-profit partners – of which CPC is a key member – that has spent the last few years rehabilitating and renovating a portfolio of 16 public housing developments across Manhattan.
“For nearly half a century, the Community Preservation Corporation has been at the forefront of strengthening and revitalizing communities through the creation and preservation of high-quality affordable homes – an ethos our agency shares,” said Tom Corsillo, Senior Vice President at Marino and head of the agency’s Public Affairs practice. “Marino is incredibly excited to expand our years-long partnership with CPC and to support the organization in advancing its mission to solve the housing problem and close the racial wealth gap.”
As CPC’s agency of record, Marino is working with executives across the company to formulate an in-depth communications program that targets key stakeholders including clients, developers, investors, the media, and the general public.
The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) was established in 1974 and is headquartered in New York City with expansive reach across New York state. The company is the only nonprofit mortgage lender in the country and specializes in affordable housing investment and community revitalization, utilizing strategic relationships with government agencies, local community groups, banks, and other lenders to create customizable loan opportunities that facilitate homes for those in need. Today, CPC is the largest CDFI solely committed to investing in multifamily housing, having invested more than $14 billion to finance the creation and preservation of more than 250,000 units of quality housing in neighborhoods across New York state and beyond.
Marino’s Public Affairs practice and Real Estate and Property Innovation practice provide public relations, creative and multi-media, and campaign management services to clients ranging from real estate brokerages, investors, developers, and real estate finance companies as well as construction companies. Over the last five years, the agency has developed a specialty practice focused on providing public relations and integrated marketing support to PropTech, FinTech, ClimateTech and ConTech. Throughout the history of the agency, Marino has played a critical role in shaping and advancing some of the most prominent economic development, placemaking, urban planning and real estate initiatives.
