When it comes to dreaming about a summer getaway, Italy often tops the list. Bono’s Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Price: ~$20/bottle)  
Olive oil is a staple ingredient in Italian cuisine, and Bono Extra Virgin Olive Oil is among the finest. Produced in Sicily, this premium, award-winning olive oil is made from carefully selected olives, resulting in a smooth and fruity flavor profile. It's ideal for drizzling over salads, enhancing the flavors of pasta dishes, or simply dipping crusty bread.   

 This salad recipe favorite highlights the distinct flavors of Bono.  

Classic Caprese Salad  

Ingredients:  

  • 2 large ripe tomatoes  
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese  
  • Fresh basil leaves  
  • Bono Extra Virgin Olive Oil  
  • Salt and pepper to taste  

Instructions:  

  1. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into ¼-inch thick rounds.  
  2. Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices on a plate, alternating them.  
  3. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella slices.  
  4. Drizzle Bono Extra Virgin Olive Oil generously over the salad.  
  5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.  
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy.  

   

De Nigris Sweet Rosé Vinegar(Price: $7.99/ bottle)  

The latest product released by De Nigris, one of Modena’s largest producers of balsamic vinegar, is a Sweet Rosé Wine Vinegar made with ancellotta grapes from the Emilia Romagna region. The final product is a “Balsamic Rose” which has more floral and delicate notes than a traditional balsamic vinegar. It also pairs perfectly with many of the same dishes that one would enjoy with a glass of rosé - shellfish, salads, ceviche and more.  

 Try this fresh summer salad that showcases the versatility of the Sweet Rosé Vinegar.  

   

Strawberry Balsamic Summer Salad

Ingredients:  

  • 4 cups mixed salad greens  
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved  
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese  
  • De Nigris Sweet Rosé Vinegar  
  • Bono Extra Virgin Olive Oil  
  • Salt and pepper to taste  

Instructions:  

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, strawberries, and crumbled feta cheese.  
  2. Drizzle De Nigris Sweet Rosé Vinegar and extra virgin olive oil over the salad.  
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.  
  4.  Toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.  
  5. Serve immediately for a refreshing and tangy summer salad.  

   

Fratelli Beretta Prosciutto (Price: ~$6 / 3oz package)

‘The Nonna’ Sandwich  

Ingredients:  

  • 4 slices of Italian bread  
  • 1/2 lb Fratelli Beretta Prosciutto, sliced  
  • 4 slices Parmigiana Reggiano, cut 1/8” thick  
  • 1/2 cup fresh arugula  
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze  

Instructions:  

  1. Brush one side of each slice of bread with balsamic glaze.  
  2. Layer each bottom slice of bread with the Fratelli Beretta Prosciutto and the parmigiano.  
  3. Add the arugula, drizzle with the remainder of the balsamic glaze.  
  4. Top each sandwich with a slice of bread.
